Mexico is upset that Governor Rick Perry sent the National Guard to the border to stop illegal immigrants from crossing into Texas. A statement from Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said in no uncertain terms that the country “rejects” tactics being used to secure the border.
Texas Governor Rick Perry has been very vocal in his opposition to President Barack Obama’s handling of the border crisis. As previously reported by The Inquisitr , approximately 60,000 illegal immigrants have come across the Mexican border already this year. According to a Pew report based upon government statistics, about one-third of the illegal aliens are minors.
Of the minors, the significant portion is young males between the ages of 12 and 17. U.S. Border Patrol agents have no way to verify that the young men claiming to be “children” are truly under the age of 18. MS-13, a violent drug gang, is reportedly known to recruit adolescents to work for the cartel.
The Mexican response to Rick Perry sending the National Guard to the border also said, “No circumstance at all or change in border security exists that justifies this measure taken by the state.” The measure referenced is America using a law enforcement entity to secure the border and prevent illegal immigrants from crossing onto United States’ soil.

The release went on to claim that deploying the National Guard to the Texas border “does not contribute in any way to solving the immigration problem.” Exactly how preventing individuals from coming into America illegally does not help stem the flow of illegal aliens remains unclear. “[The deployment] is inconsistent with US-Mexico talks aimed at “building a modern, prosperous and safe border,” the Mexican statement concluded.
Governor Rick Perry asked for 1,000 National Guard volunteers to be a part of the extended deployment to the Texas Border – the longest-serving governor in the state was immediately met with more than 2,000 volunteers.
National Guard troops are soldiers who are under the control of state governors. The troops do not have the authority to detain illegal immigrants because such a task is a responsibility of the federal government. But, the troops can assume some of the duties currently being handled by the overly-taxed Border Patrol and allow the agents to conduct more monitoring of border crossings.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Border Patrol agents have stated they are overwhelmed with staffing illegal immigrant detention center and supervising the transport of the individuals to other processing locations. Illegal immigrants, including the unaccompanied minors, have now been sent to all 50 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The illegal aliens are given a summons to appear at a deportation hearing that will be scheduled at a later date – government records indicate that at least half of the individuals never show up for the proceedings.
It should also be mentioned that when someone is caught illegally entering the nation of Mexico, they are immediately arrested and imprisoned,
According to the National Review:
“While amnesty advocates and civil-liberties zealots in the U.S. decry ‘police state’ tactics against illegal aliens, Mexico fiercely maintains laws against illegal border crossings; ‘verification visits’ to enforce visa conditions; requirements that foreigners produce proof of legal status on demand; and enforcement and cooperation between and among immigration officials and law-enforcement authorities at all levels in Mexico. Native-born Mexicans are also empowered to make citizens’ arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.”
“Mexico’s National Catalogue of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizen’s identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest at any time.”
