Iggy Azalea apparently understands the concept of striking while the iron is hot.
The Australia rapper unleashed her debut album, The New Classic , earlier this year, a record people are still willing to spend money to acquire. However, just because she’s still promoting the endeavor and releasing singles doesn’t mean she’s just watching the money roll in. Azalea obviously has her mind tuned to the future.
According to Idolator , Iggy Azalea is already hard at work on her sophomore album . Although it’s still in the early stages of development, the rapper is in the process of preparing some new material for her next trip to the studio.

Details are understandably few and far between at the moment, but apparently Iggy wouldn’t mind getting a little assistance from rapper and producer Missy Elliot. Considering Azalea recently teamed up with Jennifer Lopez for her new album AKA , there’s always a chance that the American Idol judge could return the favor.
Popdust reports that Azalea intends to hit the studio once again this August . In the meantime, she has a few festival dates lined up to help squeeze as much money out of The New Classic as humanly possible. She also has a new single looming on the horizon.
Azalea will reportedly unleash “Black Widow” on the masses in the near future. The tune, which sprang from the mind of pop princess Katy Perry , finds the Australian rapper joining forces with R&B diva Rihanna. Iggy is no doubt hoping to replicate the success of “Problem,” a track that found her collaborating with singer Ariana Grande. The song is still riding high on the iTunes songs chart as of this writing.
Since Azalea seems to have an affinity for Southern hip-hop — which many people have reportedly taken issue with in recent days — chances are she isn’t going to stray too far from the formula that made her successful. During a brief chat with HipHopDX , she discussed the artists who influenced her sound .
Iggy explained:
“I love OutKast. I love [T.I.]. I love Houston, Rap-A-Lot Records. The thing that I always loved about Southern music was that they were country, and being from Australia, I was from the country. So that was a thing that I kind of felt like I could identify with more than with a rapper that was from L.A. [or] New York City.”
Are you surprised that Iggy Azalea is already working on her new album?
