The Houston Texans did a pretty good job addressing their main needs in the 2010 NFL draft. They upgraded a defensive secondary that surely needed it; by selecting two corners, they also drafted two linebackers, and added a big guy to the D line. They have a few needs left, but first they must make several free agent decisions. They could also use an upgrade here and there, but overall this team looks pretty good on paper.
A decision is going to have to be made on Matt Leinart. He likely leaves and the Texans drafted QB TJ Yates to plug into the depth chart if he does. RB Arian Forster could be a free agent, and likely will be a restricted free agent but the team needs to get him a new deal. WR Jacoby Jones will also likely be brought back as they did not add any WR talent in the draft. They also need a new deal for TE Owen Daniels. This team does not have many other free agent concerns.
The Coaching staff appears ready to enter the season with Earl Mitchell or Shaun Cody as their Nose tackle. Mitchell is fast and can get up the field but he only weighs 290 pounds. He needs to add some weight to play that position effectively. If he cannot the Texans will need to add a nose tackle via free agency.
Going back to the wide out position for a moment, I think this team could look to add a big time threat to play opposite Andre Johnson. They could allow Jones to leave and possibly make a play for a guy like Plaxico Burress. I think that would give the Texans offense a lot of talent and maybe a motivated Burress gets this team over the top.
