Newlyweds Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly paid $200,000 to locals on a Malta island in order for them to leave their homes.
Jolie and Pitt, who were married on August 23 at their Chateau Miraval home in Correns, France, intend to shoot part of their upcoming film, By The Sea, on the island of Gozo, while they also want to enjoy their honeymoon there too.
In order for them to do that in peace and quiet the couple, who have millions upon millions of dollars to spare, have decided to pay the inhabitants of Gozo $200,000. In return Pitt and and Jolie will have the Mediterranean resort all to themselves until November at the earliest.
A source told The Daily Star , “A lot of people have agreed to leave the island so that they can have some privacy. $200,000 is a very tempting offer. It means they will be able to film without prying eyes… and do what people do on their honeymoon.”
Jolie and Pitt, as well as their six children, 13-year-old Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, 10-year-old Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, 9-year-old Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, 8-year-old Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, 6-year-old Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt and 6-year-old Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, are set to call their 100-foot luxury yacht their home for the period that they’re based off Gozo.
“The boat is absolutely beautiful, a classic yacht with three masts, and is where Angelina, Brad and their children will stay during the shoot. It will hopefully allow them some privacy and some time to explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings,” the insider continued.
By The Sea, which is written and directed by Angelina Jolie, will star Jolie and Pitt, who will both produce the picture too, revolves around a couple that decide to take a last-ditch vacation in order to save their flailing marriage. Production already began on August 19 in Malta and is expected to continue for the next few weeks.
Pitt and Jolie’s wedding was a lavish display of their love and adulation for each other, and each of their six children are believed to have played a huge part in their celebration.
As The Inquisitr reported earlier this week: “Each child had a key role to play: Eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked their mom down the aisle; flower girls Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, tossed petals gathered from the garden; and Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers. The kids also helped write their parents’ vows. And Pax baked the cake!”
