‘Hollywood Hillbillies:’ 2015 Schedule Of America’s Favorite Rednecks Kicks Off Tonight On REELZ

Hollywood Hillbillies is gearing up for its third season tonight on the cable television channel REELZ, and judging by the last two seasons it will do just fine in the ratings because as much as some uppity people like to bash the idea for the show, they are still changing that channel and tuning right in to watch America’s favorite rednecks. The cast stars Michael ‘The Angry Ginger’ Kittrell, Dee Dee Peters, Paul Conlon, Delores ‘Mema’ Hughes, and John Cox.

Here is what you’re in for, according to the tease.

“Chronicling the unfiltered, [Hollywood Hillbillies] is a Southern-fried family taking on Tinsel town. Just a few years ago, as a teenager, Michael became a YouTube sensation with his Angry Ginger rant – since then, his YouTube page has garnered over 100 million views. He lives in Georgia with his family and credits his tell-it-like-it-is grandmother, known as Mema, for helping him get his life together and making sure he stays focused on his music. Once Michael’s social media world took off he, along with Mema and their other family members, moved to Los Angeles so that Michael could pursue his music career. All of their adventures have been chronicled on the REELZ Channel hit reality series, “Hollywood Hillbillies.”

Yes and “Dee Dee,” Hollywood Hillbillies will be an entertaining show to watch, and just like the last two seasons, every scene is sure to take the audience on the best dang hillbilly hayride they’ve ever seen. Laced with rough, but truthful humor, tonight’s show promises to serve up all kinds of hillbilly hijinks that viewers have come to love and “redneck-onize.”

The idea for the show was sparked by YouTube star Michael Kittrell, whose angry rants gained a following. Produced by Asylum Entertainment, Hollywood Hillbillies first came to cable television on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, and followed up with a second season on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. During the debut of the second season, David Weintraub commented on how Hollywood Hillbillies compared to the other rural-comedy series, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

“Our show is a true comedy,” David explains. “Honey Boo Boo is a great show and I’m happy to see all the success they have… but Hollywood Hillbillies is about a young adult trying to make it in the industry. It’s not a trainwreck show about a dysfunctional family where people are being exploited – instead, we focus on people making their dreams come true, and the love that binds families together. I’m the guy who holds the key to the adventure… I want nothing more than for the family to be successful out here and make their lives better.”

Be sure and tune in to the latest episode of Hollywood Hillbillies on Saturday, April 11 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on REELZ Channel.
