The much talked about Hillary Clinton documentary planned by CNN films has been cancelled before even getting off the ground.

The announcement was made on Monday after the director attached to the project, Charles Ferguson, cited pressure from both sides of the isle.

Conservatives had accused the network of playing favorites when news surfaced that the project was being planned especially since there is the possibility that Clinton may run for President in the 2016 national elections.

In a statement CNN Worldwide said:

“Charles Ferguson has informed us that he is not moving forward with his documentary about Hillary Clinton … [We] won’t seek other partners and are not proceeding with the film.”

In a blog Ferguson wrote on Monday in the Huffington Post, he explains why he stepped down from this project.

Stating that he got the cold shoulder from Hillary Rodham Clinton advisers almost from the get go, Ferguson seems disenchanted that no one would sit down and talk to him about the documentary from the former first lady’s camp.

He complains that they kept Clinton from meeting with him, in what would have been part of his research for the program as well as voicing their concerns about conflict of interests to the network and making statements to the media about those concerns.

When Ferguson and CNN decided to make the public announcement about the documentary, t he Republican National Committee threaten to boycott the news network for the 2016 presidential primary debates.

Ferguson says he wasn’t surprised by this but was surprised by Democrats when they stated they weren’t thrilled with the documentary either.

The filmmaker says that he was very interested in exploring some of the behind-the-scenes facts involving the Clintons “money machine.”

But it appears that he Hillary Clinton , the documentary wasn’t in the cards. “…I discovered that nobody, and I mean nobody, was interested in helping me make this film. Not Democrats, not Republicans — and certainly nobody who works with the Clintons…” Ferguson dejectedly states.
