Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman are not expected to return to The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 8, at least according to the latest report. On August 6, New York Daily News ‘ Confidenti@l claimed the two women were on the chopping block with Bravo, as producers eyed a potential new housewife, Lora Drasner.
According to the report, Heather Thomson allegedly chose to leave the show after coming to the mutual agreement with Bravo, while Taekman is not expected to be asked back. Meanwhile, Drasner is said to be in talks with Bravo for a possible Season 8 debut.
“She’s been offered a slot multiple times and is speaking with producers, but she is doing her due diligence. She is asking a million questions and asking current cast members out to lunch and shopping trips to try to feel them out.”
Serving as a possible replacement for Heather Thomson or Taekman, the 50-year-old Drasner, former wife of New York Daily News ‘ co-owner Fred Drasner, is said to have a lifestyle similar to her potential co-stars. The report claimed Drasner “leads a fairy-tale life, jetting around the world while her hubby funds her artistic endeavors.”
“She’s interested (in Real Housewives ), but she’s not sure what it entails. Bravo really really wants her.”
While Thomson has reportedly left the network for good after The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7, Taekman may soon return — even if she isn’t asked back for Season 8. As the Inquisitr reported earlier this week, Taekman’s longtime friend and fellow Real Housewives star, Brandi Glanville, recently announced a spinoff featuring the two of them was “happening.”

The show, which has yet to be confirmed by Bravo or any other network, could take the place of a spinoff given to NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak earlier this year. Because of the two former Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s busy schedules, the series was ultimately canned by Bravo, possibly making way for Taekman and Glanville’s spinoff debut.
Heather Thomson joined the cast during the series’ fifth season, following the exits of Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, Cindy Barshop, and Kelly Bensimon.
For more of Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman, tune into The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7, airing on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo. The Season 7 reunion will begin in two weeks and air in three parts.
