Photos of the One Direction singer Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner were leaked this weekend. The photos were of the Caribbean vacation that the two went on in December of last year. The pictures depicted Styles and Jenner in situations that would be easy to label as canoodling.
Also on this vacation were Styles’ mother, Anne Cox, Ellen DeGeneres, and her wife, Portia De Rossi. The photos were first posted to a Twitter account called @HarryStyles, which was obviously not the singer’s account. The account was quickly banned. After that, a few more pictures were released under a different account. The photos of Styles and company were evidently stolen when someone hacked the iCloud account of his mother. Styles’ mother then took to Twitter to announce that she was going to be taking a break from the internet and that people that you can trust are hard to find.
You never know who to trust.

Anne has not been back on the internet since. One Direction fandom has had a variety of reactions to the photos. Initially, the fans were delighted to get a glimpse into the private lives of Styles and Jenner. However, once they found out what had to happen in order to get those photos, the vast majority of fans were outraged.
“Whoever hacked into Anne’s iCloud should be ashamed of themselves. Show respect for the boys and their families by NOT spreading pictures,” Said one Twitter user.
The incident lead to the Twitter hashtag “Annes iCloud” trending.
Despite the onslaught of support that the family has received, there is also a group of fans that see this as nothing but an opportunity. These “fans” are the people that incited the reaction from Harry’s sister, Gemma.
“Please note: my mum is not back on Twitter, any new accounts are fake,” Harry’s sister tweeted Sunday. “To those making them — has her life not been violated enough for you?”
“Sadly for the people apologizing there are also opportunistic, nasty people adding insult to injury.”
One particular instance involved Gemma actually responded to a nasty message from a fan asking “who cares?” to which she responded, “I do.”
Because of the differences in the reactions of fans, it really shows the dichotomy between fans that are legitimately interested in the well-being of their idols and those who lean more towards the side of exploitation for their own gain.
Whether or not Styles and Jenner are actually a couple remains to be seen. Whoever published these photos evidently wants to believe that that’s the case. Selena Gomez, who is a member of the friend group including Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, and Gigi Hadid, was quoted saying that she was the only single one in the “squad.”
“[We’re holding auditions] maybe not for the squad, necessarily, but boyfriend material is always good… none of them are single, just so you know, Taylor is not single, Gigi [Hadid] is not single, neither is Kendall [Jenner]. I am the only single one!”
This statement could possibly be a hint as to whether or not Styles and Jenner are romantically involved. But an insider close to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians series has something to say about that, telling E! that Kendall is still single.
“Kendall is single,” the source tells us. “She is not dating Harry anymore, but they are still friends and if they are in the same city they likely would [hang out]. Nothing bad happened between them, just busy schedules.”
Perhaps time will tell whether or not Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner are actually an item.
