Harrison Ford Hospital: Actor Released From Hospital, Spotted Driving In LA

Harrison Ford is out of the hospital and is doing much better following a March 5 plane crash. According to the New York Daily News , Ford was spotted driving in Los Angeles on Monday, clearly getting back to his normal routine after the frightening ordeal. The actor suffered some broken bones and needed to have surgery, but he has been recovering nicely.

According to Us Weekly , sources say that Harrison is “ on his way to healing ,” and that his recovery has been a process, but that he is doing really well. He will be going to rehab to strengthen his muscles and to ensure that his pelvis and ankle heal properly. A Ford pal said that “he’s a strong guy,” and everyone seems to have great faith that Ford will make a full recovery — especially his doctors.

Harrison Ford was in the hospital for about three weeks following a crash that could have killed him. He was piloting a small plane (a 1942 Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR) when one of the engines failed. Ford didn’t panic, however, and he managed to bring the plane down on a golf course, away from homes in the area. Because of Ford’s quick thinking, no one else was injured in the crash.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ford’s wife, Calista Flockhart , was instrumental in keeping his spirits up. She spent countless hours by her husband’s side, bringing him comfort food, and some good reads to enjoy while he was laid up.

“She drops [son] Liam off in the morning and then spends hours with Harrison. She brings him food and reading material,” shared a source earlier this month. There had been some chatter about Flockhart expressing her concerns for her husband’s love of flying. Sources say that Ford’s family has asked him not to fly anymore because it’s simply too dangerous. No one wants him to tempt fate, which is what many feel he would be doing if he decides to pilot a plane again. Of course this is one of Ford’s favorite hobbies, so him agreeing to stop flying is a long shot. Even still, sources say that it has been discussed in depth.

According to The Hollywood Gossip , a rep for the actor confirmed that he’s out of the hospital , and that he is “comfortably resting at home.” It’s unknown when he plans on returning to work, or when his doctors will okay him for such.
