Las Vegas, NV – “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Harlem Shake” is the name of the video that SI is using to salute the NCAA while in Las Vegas.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Harlem Shake is the new viral video fad sweeping the world. A Kate Upton body paint photo shoot is included within the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition that focuses on bikinis in an Antarctic summer. But sunny Las Vegas is where the action will be going down.

Las Vegas hosts the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue launch party. The SI swimsuit cover girl Kate Upton led the other stunning ladies of the special issue in a salute to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball conference championships. They started the two days of parties and special events with a fun photo op at the iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. Some guys might be disappointed that the models traded in their bikini tops for athletic jerseys, but the Harlem Shake makes all the difference.

Las Vegas is widely known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, but the city is also a top sports destination. Vegas hosts a multitude of professional and collegiate events throughout the year, including four college basketball championships next month.

The “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Harlem Shake” video shows the SI girls paying homage to the NCAA by dressing in jerseys representing schools from the participating NCAA conferences, which include Pac-12, Mountain West Conference, West Coast Conference and Western Athletic Conference. Representing the University of Nevada, Las Vegas mascot Hey Reb! Under, an oversized “Only-Vegas” hoop, joined the Sports Illustrated models and added to the Harlem Shake with his best half-court shot.

The annual NCAA college basketball frenzy will tip off next month. Hop over to LasVegas.com for information and tickets for viewing parties and the conference championships taking place in Las Vegas.
