Hamas has spoken out against Donald Trump and his plans for the Gaza Strip. The terrorist group has accused the US President of attempting to turn Gaza into a ‘big prison.” The claim comes after Trump took to social media to share his “vision” for the Gaza Strip.
Trump sparked controversy after he posted an AI-generated video to his Truth Social account. The video clip begins with a visual of children running around in a land affected by war. The children who seem to be Palestinian are shown to be barefooted while the title “What’s next?” pops up on the screen.
The video then shows Trump’s “vision” for Gaza, which involves rebuilding it. It features visuals of a glorious beach resort, luxury buildings, and sports cars.
In the clip, children are seen running around with golden balloons that are shaped like Trump’s head. Another scene shows a display full of golden miniatures of Trump’s head on sale. The last scene of the video shows a massive building standing in all its grandeur with “Trump Gaza” written on it.
A song accompanied the clip that claimed that Trump would “set” the people of Gaza “free.” The lyrics to the song claimed that he would be “bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear. Trump Gaza is finally here, Trump Gaza’s shining bright, golden future, a brand new light, feast, and dance, the deal is done, Trump Gaza number one.”

Basem Naim, who serves as the spokesperson for Hamas, addressed the video in a conversation with Newsweek. “Unfortunately, Trump is once again proposing ideas that do not take into account the cultures and interests of the people,” he began.
Naim went on to speak about how the people of Gaza are eagerly waiting for Gaza to be rebuilt. He noted how Gaza needs to be “economically revived” in order to secure a “better future” for its children. “But this cannot succeed inside the big prison,” he added.
“We are not struggling to improve prison conditions, but to get rid of the prison and the jailer,” the Hamas spokesperson concluded. The White House called Trump a “visionary” after he revealed his plans for the rebuilding of Gaza.

The White House claimed that the rebuilding of Gaza would help the Palestinian people to “resettle” in “new and beautiful” communities. Trump, on the other hand, claimed that the leaders in the Middle East “love” his plan. The President also claimed that the 1.8 million people of Gaza who have been displaced because of the war will be on board with his plan.
During a press conference, he shared that the US would be responsible for dismantling “dangerous unexploded bombs” in Gaza. That would be followed up by them leveling the site and getting rid of the destroyed buildings.
