Halle Berry recently lost her engagement ring, sparking rumors that she and her French husband, Olivier Martinez, were headed for divorce.
According to TMZ , Berry lost her ring over a year ago while she was attending the Acapulco International Film Festival in Mexico last January, where she received the Silver Jaguar Award. Apparently, the ring slipped off of her finger, or she left it laying on a table, and someone took it. The X-Men star says they haven’t replaced it yet because they didn’t think it was a priority. However, Berry still has her wedding ring, it was just the engagement ring she lost.
Prior to Berry explaining the reason behind her missing bling, Radar Online had reported that the couple would be announcing their divorce plans any day now, citing Martinez’s anger issues as the cause.

“It seems Halle and Olivier have finally hit the end of the road,” a source said. “They’ve weathered a lot of ups and downs in their relationship, but recently Olivier has been completely MIA.” According to the news site, Martinez had been involved in multiple altercations. In 2012, he got into a fistfight with Berry’s former partner and father of her daughter Nahla, 7, model Gabriel Aubry. Then, the next year, he got into a fight with a photographer. Despite the website’s claims, for now, it seems as though the couple is happy and currently have no plans to divorce. Berry and Martinez first started dating in 2010 while they were working on Dark Tide together. They later tied the knot during a intimate ceremony at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, a commune in the Burgundy region of central France. A few months later, they welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Maceo.

While caring for her two children, Halle has also been working on filming the television series Extant, which she admits was very challenging for her, as Olivier was also working on two series, Texas Rising and Revenge.
“It was tough last year. I sort of got my sea legs, as they say. I was nursing my two-month old baby when I started,” she said, according to Hello! Daily News . “The hours were brutal. I just was like a deer in the headlights. This year I was much more prepared.”
