If you don’t want spoilers for one of the best scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy , read no further. For those in the know, though: rejoice! You’ll soon be able to pre-order your very own Dancing Groot toy!
The happy news comes to us via Marvel’s Executive Editorial Director, Ryan Penagos. Penagos issued a cryptic tweet on Friday, saying that he was in the process of securing “confirmation” on “something wonderful.” He then followed that up with an image of an actual, real life, honest to God Dancing Groot. And there was much rejoicing in the land.
If you haven’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy and you’re still reading despite our spoiler warning from before, you were forewarned.
Dancing Groot, of course, is possibly the best part of this summer’s smash hit Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy , as his presence signaled that the beloved tri-syllabic Groot did in fact survive the movie’s climax. The unforgettable Dancing Groot scene at the end provides a final bit of levity as the credits roll, with Draxx suspicious of the Groot sapling but never able to catch the little sprout in motion.
Now, Penagos has confirmed that Dancing Groot will come to life in the form of a vinyl bobblehead. True, it’s not a fully articulated dancing figure, but it should tide you over, unless you’re one of those crafty Guardians fans that went out and made your own after seeing the movie.
It’s real! The first official Dancing Groot toy, from the amazing folks at @OriginalFunko ! #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy pic.twitter.com/I5xNdgE0H8

Penagos does maybe offer some hope that a more animated Dancing Groot toy could be on its way, as he calls the bobblehead “the first official Dancing Groot toy,” meaning that maybe there could be more to follow? We’re holding out hope.
In the meantime, though, Penagos says that the Dancing Groot bobblehead will be available for pre-order “real soon,” with official pricing and a release date set for some time next week. Guardians of the Galaxy fans look like they’re pretty psyched to get their hands on a Dancing Groot, too; Penagos’ revelatory tweet has over 3,500 reshares.
Of course, Groot isn’t the only well-loved character to come out of Guardians of the Galaxy . The hit Marvel flick has boosted Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, to a new level in his career. The Guardians star hasn’t been resting on his laurels, though, as this week saw Pratt stepping out to cheer up sick kids at a Los Angeles children’s hospital. Pratt chilled with the kids in full Star-Lord gear, letting some of the patients try on his outfit and screening a special showing of Guardians of the Galaxy for the youths.
No word on if there was any dancing, though. Or if he handed out any Dancing Groot bobbleheads to the sick youngsters.
