Grand Theft Auto 5 ‘s map size puts previous games to shame.
Ever since Grand Theft Auto took the 3D world route, the game has been a massive sandbox of craziness and freedom, letting gamers approach practically any vehicle they see, toss out the driver, and run off with it. Of course, there is also the vast amounts of crime the gamer can pull off between stealing cars, from hiring hookers and beating them to get your money back, to robbing banks to gain favor from the game’s kingpins.
The GTA 5 map is so massive that it won’t be surprising if players find themselves just wandering the world and getting lost a lot of times. Seriously, it has a massive desert and mountain terrain, a city on its South end that’s about the size of any GTA city map that came before it, and a huge section that’s completely underwater. You could spend weeks simply getting used to the miles of terrain at your disposal.
Just in case you were thinking that the Grand Theft Auto 5 map size is based on a hoax, Rockstar themselves verified on Twitter that the map was taken from the official Brady Games strategy guide . That GTA 5 map that we previously reported on The Inquisitr is the real thing. In case you want to see the sheer scope of the new world map of Grand Theft Auto 5 , IGN has released a video exploring the map, as seen below.
Rockstar has been anything but angry about fans using the official world map to try to piece together facts about the game and actual locations. In fact, they have been complimenting those efforts to figure out the map for themselves. After all, it’s only further building the excitement for their upcoming game.

From the look of the new Grand Theft Auto 5 map size, we may need a bigger PlayStation and Xbox.
