Gran Turismo 6 has just had its teaser trailer leaked before the official reveal event.

Every next generation console tends to launch with a racing title, and with the Xbox 720 rumor of launching with Project Gotham Racing , it’s time for the PlayStation 4 racing news.

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo franchise, a big event is being planned for May 15. However, the teaser trailer may have been leaked a little early. With the event a week away, it may actually be intentional.

Gran Turismo was originally created for the first PlayStation as a racing title that touted realistic physics and photo-quality graphics, and may have even taught drivers how to cut seconds off their race to work. Yes, it was pretty much Driver’s Ed for speed demons.

Do us a favor, though, and keep driving safe in real life. After all, the few seconds you save will be wasted if you get pulled over for speeding.

The teaser trailer for Gran Turismo 6 begins with an in-game screen of the Silverstone Formula 1 Circuit in the UK where the announcement is due to take place , and cuts to a photo of the real thing. Then we see the words on screen, “Something big is happening at Silverstone on May 15…”

We then get cuts between game footage and real-life of someone making their way down the raceway. Gears are shifted, pedals are floored, and road is eaten in true racing fashion. We see flashes of the official website in overhead signs, “ www.silverstone.uk ,” and the game footage mixed with real-life racing footage continues, giving us a glimpse of the realism Gran Turismo 6 is going for.

Then the words appear on screen, inviting us to “check out gran-turismo.com to join us in celebrating 15 years of Gran Turismo .”

Gran Turismo 6 is getting announced May 15, and the teaser trailer is above.
