Conservative radio broadcaster Glenn Beck isn’t going anywhere for a while. He has reportedly resigned with Premiere Networks, a unit of Clear Channel, for five more years. Beck’s production company Mercury Radio Arts and Premiere will not comment on the size or value of the deal but people close to Beck say that the deal is for a jaw dropping $100 million dollars over five years. His last five year deal was reportedly valued at around $50 million dollars.
Beck’s program, which is aptly titled “The Glenn Beck Program” ranks third in the country for most listened too radio broadcast. Only conservative personalities Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity rank higher. Beck’s show is syndicated in more than 400 markets from 9:00am to 12:00pm. That slot is getting a lot more competitive with even former presidential candidate Herman Cain starting a show at that time.
This new deal comes less than a year after Beck cut ties with Fox News. He had left the network to begin his own Internet-based broadcasting network called GBTV. At the time of the network’s launch in September, the Wall Street Journal reported that Beck nabbed roughly 230,000 subscribers, each paying either $10 or $5 per subscription.
Even though Beck left the national stage with his departure from Fox News he has been anything but fading from public eye. He brought a massive delegation to Israel to show solidarity with the Jewish State and to stand up against terrorism.
Beck also ranked 23rd on the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list. Last year Beck’s income was reported to be around 80 million dollars.
