One girl’s fear of spiders led her to call 911 when she was home alone with a “massive freaking” spider.
According to KPTV – FOX 12 , the girl called 911 and began the conversation with: “I just kind of have a ridiculous question.”
That’s a promising way to being a conversation, now isn’t it?
According to the KPTV – FOX 12 report, a teenage girl in Forest Grove called 911 not for an emergency, but instead for a spider.
The conversation went as follows:
“I’m home alone and there is a giant spider on the back of my couch, and I’m talking giant. I’ve never seen a spider this big and I have no idea what to do,” she told the slightly perplexed dispatcher, according to 911 records.
She went on to explain that the “massive freaking creature” was about the size of a tarantula, and that normally spiders don’t scare her.
A recent event where a family member was bit by one and had to the hospital had her a little shaken up.
“I don’t know if you guys have anything I can do, or if I just sit here and stare at it and wait for someone to get home to kill it,” she told the dispatcher.
The 911 dispatcher didn’t even seem to know how to quite handle the situation, and finally he agreed to have an officer contact her.
So how does the girl respond? She again asks the responder, “Is that ridiculous?”
The report went on to say that the police don’t normally respond to these sort of calls, but decided to help the girl out and send someone out to help her.
How did the officer respond once he came face-to-face with the spider? He took a rolled up newspaper and smashed it the old fashioned way.
KPTV – FOX 12 stated that the spider was estimated to be about two inches in diameter.
I guess the girl who called 911 to help her dispose of the huge spider got lucky, not everyone gets that kind of service!
