The 2016 presidential primary season is finally in full swing, and there are several options to get live streaming results on Saturday from the Republican primary in South Carolina and the Democratic caucus in Nevada. The Democratic contest appears more unpredictable, with not only polls but officials within the Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton campaigns unable to make an early call in the state, with its 35 delegates up for grabs.
The Republican race in South Carolina has offered a far clearer picture, though at least one new poll shows the race there growing closer with Texas Senator Ted Cruz gaining ground on frontrunner Donald Trump. Nonetheless, most polls as well as political insiders see Trump coasting to a decisive victory in the first southern state to vote in the 2016 primary season.
UPDATE 10 p.m. EST: Donald Trump has won the South Carolina Republican primary , and Hillary Clinton claimed victory in the Nevada Democratic caucuses. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush dropped out of the Republican race after a disappointing finish. For full details, see the streaming links below.
A new poll released Friday by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal shows the Trump lead in South Carolina shrinking to just five points over Cruz, meaning that the Texas evangelical has managed to shave 11 points off of the advantage held by New York businessman and entertainer Donald Trump.
But most other polls paint a far less rosy picture for Cruz. An ARG poll Thursday showed Trump up by 12 over Cruz, while an Emerson College survey the same day showed Trump ahead by 17 points with not Cruz but Florida Senator Marco Rubio coming in second in South Carolina.

The Nevada caucuses get underway at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, 2 p.m. Eastern, and are expected to run until sometime in the afternoon, local time. But there is no pre-determined “closing time” for the caucuses, so political junkies hungry to get results will simply be forced to check in periodically throughout the day on Saturday.

In Nevada, the race could provide some real suspense this weekend. Though Hillary Clinton has enjoyed an upward trend in polls in the days leading into the caucus, polling in Nevada has been skimpy — only five have been conducted in Nevada so far — and according to the election-predicting site FiveThirtyEight , the quality of those polls is spotty at best.
A CNN poll on February 15 showed Hillary Clinton winning Nevada by one, slim point. But a Gravis Marketing survey the same day saw Clinton defeating Bernie Sanders by six percentage points.
One thing is certain in Nevada. With polls showing Clinton well ahead in the following Saturday’s Democratic South Carolina primary as well as in eight of the 11 Super Tuesday states on March 1, Sanders needs a big victory in Nevada to maintain the momentum he gained with his landslide win in New Hampshire on February 9.
