Game of Thrones spoilers are consistently actively sought out by its legions of fans. For five seasons, readers have been a step ahead of viewers because they have been able to read the stories before HBO releases their visual adaptations of George R. R. Martin’s novels. That is about to change as the HBO adaptation of The Winds of Winter , the sixth novel in George R. R. Martin’s series, makes it to the small screen before the novel makes it to bookshelves. In a recent LiveJournal update, Martin shared a photo of the cover for his new book and announced that it is not yet complete.
Martin went on to answer a question he knew was on the minds of readers and viewers alike: Will the show provide spoilers for the novel? His answer? Yes, you may see things in the TV show that serve as spoilers for the novel in the sense that you’ll know what’s coming. BUT, he also acknowledged that the show has not always followed the book completely so there will likely be things in Season 6 of HBO ‘s Game of Thrones that are not in the book, and vice versa.

The internet is full of Game of Thrones spoilers already, though, and a few will be listed below.
Stop reading here if you don’t want to read spoilers .
Digital Spy reported several Game of Thrones spoilers this morning. First, Bran is back ! Isaac Hempstead Wright has confirmed that he is returning as Bran Stark in Season 6 after being absent from Season 5. This is one storyline where the TV show is actually lagging behind the novels. But show creator David Benioff told Digital Spy that Bran will come to grips with his powers “off screen in a similar way to Luke Skywalker between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi .”
A big question on the minds of most viewers is regarding the fate of Jon Snow. When asked, cast and crew of Game of Thrones vary on their opinions. But there have been reported sightings of actor Kit Harington still sporting his Jon Snow curls and of him practicing lines in Belfast, where most of the series is filmed. In addition, as recently reported by Inquisitr , the Season 6 poster and a teaser trailer that were released weeks ago appear to provide Game of Thrones spoilers indicating he has survived what appeared to be a fatal stabbing and will return for Season 6.
Online GOT community Watchers on the Wall regularly reports breaking news about the blockbuster HBO series and recently provided additional Game of Thrones spoilers including the sighting of cast and crew filming in Northern Ireland, where Winterfell scenes are often created. These scenes included Sansa, Jon Snow, Ramsay, and Littlefinger as well as a great deal of tension. In the midst of these tense moments, a giant appears at the gates and tries to force his way in. Those inside the gates unite to fight him off. It’s not clear who the giant is. Indeed, in this Game of Thrones spoiler, nothing more is known. Not the director and not the episode or even the placement of this scene in the overall plot of Season 6. But what we have is information enough to create curiosity among fans.
Game of Thronesspoilers abound and intrigue readers and viewers alike, perhaps more this season than ever before due to the season premiere of the HBOseries happening before the release of the George R. R. Martin novel upon which it is based. For the first time, no one truly knows what to expect.

UPDATE: Check out this video of Game of Thrones’ Natalie Dormer (who plays Margaery Tyrell) on Jimmy Kimmel . The entire interview is great (with perhaps a bit of a spoiler about her character) and at about 3:45, she and Jimmy talk about how HBO is handling the delayed publication of George R.R. Martin’s book.
And the date has been set for the airing of the first episode of Season 6!
