The Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere is only days away, and fans are excitedly awaiting the arrival of the new season and any new drama that may come along with it. Will this be the season when viewers finally get to see Lady Stoneheart?
According to Bustle , Game of Thrones viewers have been waiting and hoping that Lady Stoneheart would make her way from the books onto the small screen. However, they’ve been disappointed thus far. Could Season 6 be the season fans get the character they’ve been longing for?
In the Game of Thrones book series, written by George R.R. Martin , Lady Stoneheart is a resurrected version of Catelyn Stark, wife of Ned Stark, and mother of Sansa, Arya, Robb, Bran, and Rickon. Cateyn’s character shockingly dies during “the red wedding.” Lady Stoneheart vows revenge on the Frey and Bolton families, as they are to blame for her death and the death of her son Robb Stark, the King of The North.

In the novels, Catelyn’s corpse is retrieved and resurrected just days after her death. However, the TV show could never do that since she’s been dead for so long. However, there could always be flashbacks to reveal that she’s been back this whole time.
Could Lady Stoneheart make an appearance in Game of Thrones Season 6 to take control of the Brotherhood Without Banners while pursuing revenge on those who have wronged her family as she does in the books? It’s possible. Spoilers have revealed that the character of Walter Frey will appear in Season 6, although the role has been recast, and rumors that Sansa Stark and a resurrected Jon Snow will be back in Winterfell before the season ends have been highly talked about. This could mean that Lady Stoneheart has taken out the Boltons.
One of the titles for an upcoming Game of Thrones Season 6 episode is reportedly “Oathbreaker,” which is a direct throwback to Lady Brienne’s sword and the oath that she swore to Catelyn Stark that she would serve and protect her no matter what. Brienne has been determined to serve Lady Stark’s children now that Catelyn is dead. However, so far, she’s not had any luck. Could this episode see Brienne and Lady Stoneheart coming face to face?
In the books, Lady Stoneheart tells Brienne to change the name of her sword from Oathkeeper to Oathbreaker, leaving fans excited about the possibility the fan favorite literary character could be coming to life on the show.

In Season 5 of Game of Thrones , both Brienne and Jamie Lannister stepped away from their book storylines, with Brienne heading to Winterfell and Jamie to Dorn. However, Season 6 will put them back on the paths of their literary counterparts, as they both head to the Riverlands, where in the novels they encounter Lady Stoneheart.
Fans are dying to know what’s in store for Season 6, as showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have revealed it’s the most brutal and possibly the best season of the HBO hit series yet. The premiere is highly anticipated, and fans better buckle up, because it looks like it’s going to be a wild ride over the course of the next 10 weeks.
Meanwhile, Weiss and Benioff have also revealed that they’re mapping out the end of the series and that it probably only has two more seasons left. The duo also admitted that they were considering shortening the next two seasons, with Season 7 only including seven episodes and Season 8 with a mere six episodes. Of course, this news did not sit well with die-hard fans of the show. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
What are your thoughts on the latest Game of Thrones Season 6 spoilers? Do you want to see Lady Stoneheart this season?
