‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers: One Of Show’s Most Hated Characters To Make A Comeback

Darkness will still befall Game of Thrones Season 6 with the return of the Starks’ biggest traitor, Lord Walder Frey. Fans loathed him because he orchestrated the infamous Red Wedding murder in Game of Thrones Season 3. His deed in the said season’s penultimate episode led to the massacre of Lady Catelyn, Robb, his wife, Talisa, and most of the Stark army.

Game of Thrones producers remain hush about the reason for Walder’s return. Nonetheless, when he appeared at the 2015 TCA press tour, actor David Bradley told Zap2It that he’s excited to reunite with his character.

“I do look forward to it, because I do love playing someone so irredeemable. I’m afraid he makes me laugh because he’s so appalling that there’s a kind of dark humor in there somewhere.”

Lord Frey is originally an ally of the Starks. Apart from forging a friendship with Ned, he helped Robb in the War of the Five Kings by allowing his troops to cross the Twins’ river. In exchange, Robb was supposed to marry one of Walder’s daughters or granddaughters. The eldest Stark, however, wasn’t able to fulfill his vow, for he fell in love with Talisa.

Apart from Lord Frey, Ned will be making a comeback as well but in a peculiar way. Several reports claim that a young Ned will step into Game of Thrones Season 6. Thirteen-year-old Sebastian Croft will give life to the role.

Game of Thrones isn’t Sebastian’s first acting stint. The English actor already appeared in various productions including Les Miserables, Matilda, Coriolanus, and Oliver!

Fans first speculated that there would be a young Ned when Watchers of the Wall released a Game of Thrones Season 6 casting call in May for a young boy with “brown hair, a narrow face, and green eyes.” A Northern accent was also required, which made fans conclude that the call was for a young Ned.

It is believed that the young Ned will appear in Game of Thrones Season 6 through various flashbacks. It can be remembered that the HBO fantasy show broke its “no flashback” rule when it showed a young Cersei Lannister receiving a prophecy from woods witch Maggy the Frog.

Veteran actor Max von Sydow will likewise join Game of Thrones Season 6 as the Three-Eyed Raven . The mythical creature was introduced in Season 1, but did not receive much attention. The Three-Eyed Raven will reappear in the upcoming season to help Bran hone his magical abilities.

What do you think is the purpose of Lord Frey’s return to Game of Thrones? Will the young Ned reveal something important through a flashback?
