The start of Game of Thrones Season 5 is a little under a month away, which means the wait for the premiere date is becoming both easier and harder to deal with. Eager fans most likely want to know what the new season has planned for the series’ large amount of character, as well as those that have yet to be introduced, but, needless to say, only a small few want spoilers for the new season before it airs. Everyone else just hopes to enjoy the HBO series’ return unscathed.
Fortunately, between all the trailers , interviews and other media surrounding Game of Thrones , it should be fairly simple for people to find something to hold them over for the next month. And with GoT being a bit brutal at times, it’s refreshing to see the cast tackle more…lighthearted subjects. Like, who they’d like to go drinking with and, naturally, which characters they’d want to kill off themselves.
MTVUK managed to get a hold of a few members of the cast at the Game of Thrones Season 5 premiere in London last week, including Sophie Turner (Sansa), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton). The answers from the two Starks regarding who they’d want to kill off are rather unsurprising (Hint: Lannisters), while Rheon suggests that anyone in Westeros could be a target; Ramsay’s not really picky.
Interestingly enough, when asked about a good drinking partner, Rheon said that Cersei would probably be a good choice, but his answer could also be used for who he’d want to kill. Maybe Ramsay would do both, if given the chance.
“I think Cersei would give him a a good ol’ bollockin’ wouldn’t she? That’d be an interesting group. I think [Ramsay] might listen to her.”
“I think it’d be messy; I think it’d be really messy.”
As for the rest of the cast and their drinking buddys of choice, no one’s answer was better than Liam Cunningham’s (Davos Seaworth), according to WinterIsComing , who explained that he’d already gone through most of his list (after trying to do it alphabetically) but he’d basically pick anyone from Game of Thrones , and the drinking would commence that night during the new season’s premiere.
Sophie Turner, of course, picked Arya (Maisie Williams), saying it’d be a “sister trip” with Jaegerbombs, which certainly sounds like the most plausible scenario, if not one that’s already happened.
Game of Thrones Season 5 begins on HBO on April 12, 2015.
