For those who have ever wondered what Game of Thrones would be like as a musical, Chris Martin from Coldplay has brought the dream to life. In support of Red Nose Day the singer and songwriter has created a full musical, featuring many members of the cast of the hit HBO program, including some of those who were killed off in seasons past.
Comingsoon.net states that many of the stars , including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke, will be making an appearance. There are also three musical clips on YouTube, with one by Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister on the program. Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Rose Leslie can also be spotted in one of the videos.
Game of Thrones has received a lot of negative press lately for its latest episode. While many fans are angry at Sansa Stark’s rape scene at the end of the episode, others are disappointed in the way the Sand Snakes are being treated and used throughout Season Five. However, there are attempts to get fans to look past the disappointment to support Red Nose Day tonight from 8p.m.
Red Nose Day is an annual event in Britain, and is now coming to the United States. It supports 12 charities, all with the sole aim to help children and young people in poverty to lift them out of it. There will be a range of sketches, musical numbers and parodies throughout the night, with the Game of Thrones musical being one of them.
There is expected to be a number about the infamous Red Wedding, while Dinklage sings about how he remains standing while Ned Stark, Robert Baratheon and Joffrey Baratheon are all dead.
People magazine reports that there will be many more who will take the stage, and not just the Game of Thrones cast . Gwyneth Paltrow, Jack Black and Blake Shelton have currently been confirmed, as well as John Krasinski and Adam Levine.
Red noses are currently available for purchase for just $1. All proceeds go to the 12 charity organizations, and people will be able to hear stories and see where the money goes during the event. In the last three decades, more than $1 billion has been raised by the UK counterpart, and there is hope that this will become an annual even in the United States. Game of Thrones stars are on a mission to make it work while having some fun with their musical number with Chris Martin.
