The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 price and specs are up for review now that the Galaxy Note 3 release date is upon us. But is it a good deal?
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 specs were rumored to have a fingerprint scanner like the iPhone 5S but Samsung shot down those rumors.
But it’s possible a sequel to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will feature better security according to the rumors. Still, the Galaxy Note 3 specs include “Fort Knox” software where security-sensitive apps and data can be protected against external attacks in a “Container” while still allowing remote connections to secure office systems. In addition, a Samsung feature called Find My Mobile allows Galaxy Note 3 users to locate and disable their stolen or lost smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 VS Galaxy S4
A review of the Galaxy Note 3 specs wouldn’t be any good without making a comparison to its closest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S4. Both smartphones use a Super AMOLED screen producing a 1080 x 1920 HD resolution, although the Galaxy Note 3 screen size trumps the Galaxy S4 at 5.7 inches versus five inches.
You might say, “Well, wouldn’t that mean the Galaxy Note 3 screen isn’t as detailed for the size you’re getting?” Actually, the pixel density is 386 ppi and scientists estimate those with a 20/20 vision won’t notice a difference above 229 ppi based upon the average screen viewing distance, never mind the Samsung Galaxy S4 screen . But you will need a S Pen in order to use the Galaxy Note 3’s Air Command mode, which gives access to special features.
The Galaxy Note 3 specs for the CPU and GPU are enhanced. While they’re both quad core CPUs, the Galaxy Note 3 CPU is running at 2300 MHz while the Galaxy S4 is 1900 MHz. The Galaxy Note 3 system memory is 3 GB running at a higher speed versus the Galaxy S4 using 2 GB.
The Galaxy Note 3 battery size is 3200 mAh, which gives it 25 hours of talk time over the Samsung Galaxy S4’s 17 hours provided through a 2600 mAh battery. The built-in storage is 32 GB versus the Galaxy S4’s 16 GB.
A Galaxy Note 3 vs Galaxy S4 specs comparison on things like Bluetooth 4.0, WiFI, external storage, and the camera are pretty a tie, although the Galaxy Note 3 camera features continuous autofocus and its video recording capabilities allow Ultra HD/4K recording while the Galaxy S4 is limited to HD. The Galaxy Note 3 also has USB 3.0.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Price
Like pretty much all smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3 price depends on whether you buy the smartphone with a contract or not. For example, the Galaxy Note 3 price is $299.99 at Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint but T-Mobile is selling the Note 3 for $199.99 based upon a 2 year payment plan.
The full retail price for the Galaxy Note 3 is listed as $724.99 on Amazon although you might try shopping around to find special deals for less than $700.
Do you think the Samsung Note 3 price is worth it for the specs you’re getting?
