Fuller House fans are about to see the secret side of Joey Gladstone. The comical character originated by Dave Coulier will finally be seen with his family on camera. According to TV Line, the second season of Fuller House will introduce viewers to Joey’s wife Ginger and their four children.
Coulier’s character turned up during the first season of Fuller House , but his Vegas clan was never seen on the first 13 episodes of the Netflix Full House spinoff. But coming soon, fans will meet Joey’s wife Ginger, an “enthusiastic, upbeat, fun-loving magician,” as well as the couple’s four children. TV Line reveals that Ginger and the kids will show up in the sixth episode of Fuller House Season 2, just in time to crash the Tanner’s Thanksgiving festivities.
Joey’s wife, Ginger Gladstone, is described as being “a little clueless in the parenting department,” but there are no descriptions regarding the names and ages of the Gladstone kids. Just know their dad hangs around with a puppet named Mr. Woodchuck and still wears footie pajamas.
Fuller House creator Jeff Franklin previously told TV Line that Joey’s family matters weren’t revealed in the first season of the show due to lack of time.
“It didn’t make it into the script, but at one point, we had him with a wife and kids back in Vegas,” Franklin said before the first season of Fuller House debuted in February. “ We’ll get to see something from Joey [and his family] hopefully in future seasons, should they come out.”
Executive producer Bob Boyett added that Joey’s personal life “just didn’t fit anywhere in the stories we developed” for the show’s initial run and that the Joey character was brought in for specific reasons as part of the reunion of the original Full House cast. Boyett admitted that producers were unable to get to everything they wanted to in the initial 13 episodes of Fuller House , so it’s good news that the show was almost immediately picked up for a second season by Netflix.
While there is no word on who will play Joey Gladstone’s wife, Coulier recently told Glamour he had an idea for an actress who would fit the bill to be his onscreen wife.
“I hope we get to meet [Joey’s] family,” Coulier told Glamour . “I talked to Jeff Franklin about it, so I’m in good hands…I was hoping… why not have Joey marry a showgirl, Elizabeth Berkley! Wouldn’t that be great? So I’ve been putting that out there.”

While Joey may not get his showgirl, a magician is the next best thing for the animated Fuller House character. And now that his family is coming home — er, to San Francisco — for the holidays, the Fuller House family is complete. Well, almost. There’s still that Michelle/Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen issue.
Last week, Fuller House cast members posted photos from the table reading for the upcoming Thanksgiving episode. All of the original Full House males — Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) and Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) — will appear in the holiday-themed storyline, marking the first Fuller House episode they will all be in together since the show’s inaugural reunion episode earlier this year.
The first season of Fuller House was a smash hit on Netflix and the series was renewed by the on-demand streaming site just days after its debut. The second season of Fuller House is expected to be released before the end of 2016, so fans have even more reason to give thanks this holiday season.
