Flappy Bird is as simple as it is difficult, but luckily expert have some tips and hints to help you log your own high score.
The wildly popular iOS and Android game comes with one simple instruction — click — leaving users to figure out themselves how to navigate the flapping bird through green pipe obstacles that look strangely similar to Super Mario Brothers.
Flappy Bird has gained a reputation for being almost impossibly difficult, as Justin Davis of IGN noted.
“Even with a 50+ high score and most runs climbing well into the double digits, you’ll still die on the first or second gap. A lot,” he wrote. “You never feel safe or comfortable in Flappy Bird’s gauntlet. The game is still out to kill you. And it will.”
But luckily, some gaming experts have put out their Flappy Bird tips and cheats, to help even the most digitally challenged of players log a high score. Anyone old enough to remember the original Super Mario Bros. can call on their underwater level skills, when they needed to rapidly tap the B button to propel the swimming Mario along and keep him from sinking to his doom.
Other people who need a bit more help can take the Flappy Bird hints from PC Mag . As gaming correspondent Max Eddy points out, faster tapping is actually counterproductive as it sends the bird too high to make it through the targets.
“Flappy Bird is all about finding the right rhythm, so get used to a slower pace,” he wrote. “This is especially true for the critical moment when you pass between pipes and score points. You move upward so quickly in this game that it’s better to aim low and give yourself room to rise.”
Eddy also suggests Flappy Bird players not be afraid to let the bird fall.
“I know those sudden drops toward bird-killing ground seem horrifying, but you’ll need that burst of speed for when the openings suddenly change altitude,” he wrote.”

YouTube user Kmack Time also has an excellent tutorial with Flappy Bird tips, telling users to stay relaxed.
“The more frustrated you get, the easier it is to make stupid mistakes,” he said.
