Fall Out Boy fans have been waiting for the release of their new album American Beauty/American Psycho, which is set to drop on January 20. However, the band has made the album available for pre-order, and with the pre-order, fans are treated to a few choice singles ahead of time. They most recently released the single “Uma Thurman,” and on Tuesday, they surprised fans by streaming the entire album one song at a time.

Fans of the band were ecstatic, to say the least, and after the first song, “Jet Pack Blues” was streamed, the song title was trending worldwide. There is no doubt there is a lot of buzz around the album, and it is projected to have a big opening week.
Recently, VH1 was able to talk with the band about the experience of making the album. American Beauty/American Psycho is the sixth studio album from Fall Out Boy, and their second since reuniting as a band. After making four studio albums and touring several times, the band took a break with Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz pursuing other endeavors. After Fall Out Boy has started releasing new music (first with their album Save Rock and Roll ), the positive response showed the band that their fans had been patiently waiting for Fall Out Boy’s new material.
Speaking about making the album, bassist Pete Wentz revealed that the new album is one that is important to them, but it was difficult to create. Fall Out Boy is best remembered for their emo era music, but their new music has a more rock feel to it. While not all fans have been receptive to the change, most have stuck around to hear their new stuff.
“Our legacy’s important to us, but we want to show people that you can play rock and roll in stadiums and amphitheaters and you can play music on those same stages that’s currently being played on the radio. And that’s a pretty f-cking hard thing to do. Thank you to everyone here who was involved in making that happen. This is a really important record.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Fall Out Boy announced the release date of their new album, American Beauty/American Psycho last November.
Fans who have pre-ordered American Beauty/American Psycho by Fall Out Boy have been treated to five singles including the title track which already has a music video released for it. For those fans that simply can’t wait another week to hear the new Fall Out Boy album, be sure to check out their Twitter feed as that is where they are releasing links to their streaming music.
