‘Expendables 3’ Star Wesley Snipes Served With Legal Papers At Premiere

The Expendables 3 star Wesley Snipes isn’t out of legal trouble just yet.

The actor reportedly landed a role in the aforementioned sequel almost as soon as he stepped out of his prison cell. Snipes was previously convicted of tax evasion, a crime that found the the guy cooling his heels behind bars for three years. However, his status as a convicted felon didn’t seem to bother Sylvester Stallone; he tapped the Passenger 57 star for a major role in The Expendables 3 and welcomed him to the set with open arms.

While it seemed as though Wesley’s legal woes were disappearing in the rear-view mirror, apparently he’s not completely out of the woods. The Latin Post reports the actor was served with papers during the premiere of The Expendables 3 earlier this month.

Here’s the problem: Public relations firm Sitrick & Company believes Snipes owes them quite a bit of money for “failure to pay fees associated with work the group did when the actor was facing felony tax evasion charges.” If the Expendables 3 star wants the problem to go away, then he’ll need to cough up $103,000 in the near future.

Considering Snipes probably received a decent paycheck for his involvement in the latest installment of the Expendables franchise, he should have any problem paying the firm what he owes. Assuming, of course, Wesley believes they deserve this cash. It’s unclear how the actor feels about the matter as of this writing.

According to court documents , Snipes could “be subject to arrest and punishment for contempt of court, and the court may take an order requiring [him] to pay reasonable attorney fees incurred by the judgment creditor in this proceeding.”

Fortunately for Wesley, The Expendables 3 isn’t his only source of income these days. The Inquisitr previously reported that the actor is slated to reprise his role as Blade the fourth installment of the franchise. Unfortunately, it’s unclear when that will happen.

Unfortunately, The Expendables 3 failed to set the box office ablaze this summer. According to Box Office Mojo , the sequel has only scraped together a lousy $84 million worldwide . While everyone has a theory as to why the film tanked, some hardcore Expendables fans believe the PG-13 ultimately worked against the movie’s potential. Lionsgate, however, points the finger of blame directly at illegal downloading.

What do you think about Expendables 3 star Wesley Snipes getting served legal documents at the film’s premiere? Do you think he’s headed back to prison?
