The trailer for Escape Plan has hit, featuring action veterans Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone!
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are two of the biggest names in action, and for good reason. Both have been in more action films than most newcomers, and have starred in some of the best and the worst of them.
In the last few years, Sylvester Stallone has tried to resurrect the lost art of classic action film making with The Expendables and its sequels, both released and planned. It worked on the most part, bringing all of the famous action stars together in one movie where nobody gets the spotlight more than the others. Thanks to Stallone’s efforts, combined with Arnold Schwarzenegger stepping down as Governor of California, the classic action film is making a comeback, as evidenced by the blockbuster Iron Man 3 and its classic style cinematography.
With the premise that “No one breaks out alone,” Escape Plan stars both of the elderly action stars as an unlikely team with a common goal. Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) are breaking out of prison, and putting aside their differences to make it work.
The trailer for Escape Plan begins with two guards walking down a metallic hallway before we see Ray look up at a guard opening his cell door and seemingly mangle a piece of paper under his shoe.
Sylvester Stallone starts narrating, “The mind of a man confined works differently than someone on the outside. He sees things in a different way. A successful breakout depends on three things: Knowing the layout; understanding the routine; and help, from outside or in.”
We see various parts of the plan going by, such as a piece of plastic being used to avoid leaving fingerprints on a keypad, and a woman leaving what appears to be a car bomb. Then we see Ray Breslin at a phone booth as the police swarm the area, one of them yelling, “Put your hands in the air now!”
It is then explained that Ray Breslin is able to break out of any prison assigned to him, and his latest job involves a prototype facility.
