It’s a shame Undercover Colors wasn’t around in July 2012 for CeeLo Green’s date. In case you haven’t heard, Undercover Colors is a new nail polish that detects “date rape” drugs. CeeLo Green pleaded no contest in court for secretly slipping ecstasy into his dinner date’s drink at a sushi restaurant and later having sex with her, as reported by NME .
The woman had originally filed rape charges against CeeLo. She claimed she woke up in bed with CeeLo the next morning unsure of what had happened the night before. CeeLo’s lawyers claim the sex was consensual. And according to BuzzFeed , the rape charges were ultimately dropped due to lack of evidence.
However, CeeLo Green did face a felony drug charge, and was sentenced to three years of formal probation and has to complete 360 hours of community service. No jail time this go around.
Once the word got out to the public about CeeLo Green’s plea of “no contest,” the comments and accusations skyrocketed. CeeLo then decided to do something drastic, and he began talking about his case on social media. Big mistake, CeeLo. A good rule to follow is to never post or tweet in the state of emotions. But, CeeLo wanted to get his point across that his plea was not an admission of guilt. Guess what CeeLo — it didn’t work.
CeeLo began posting tweet after tweet after tweet giving his own personal definition of rape. And, I don’t think Webster’s would agree with CeeLo, nor would the judicial system.
In all his 39 years of wisdom, CeeLo tweeted,
“If someone passes out, they’re not even WITH you consciously! So WITH implies consent.”
Uh — What?
CeeLo doesn’t stop there. No. He continues to have diarrhea of the mouth.
“People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”
Really, CeeLo? And you know this how?
Oh, but he didn’t stop there. BuzzFeed reports CeeLo as comparing a home break-in to his case. CeeLo says,
“When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass, where is your plausible proof anyone was raped?”
The tweets continued between CeeLo and others bantering back and forth with him. CeeLo soon deleted his tweets, but not before a Twitter user took screen shots the posts. That’s why whenever something is posted in social media, it is out there for the world to see forever. It never goes away.
CeeLo Green went a step further and deleted his entire Twitter account. But, CeeLo decided he’d better do some back pedaling and tweeted the following before his Twitter was completely gone:
“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
It’s anybody’s guess who CeeLo will get to go out on a date with him next. Maybe he should just stick to playing with his cat.
