Ender’s Game director Gavin Hood just gave the story’s fan base a reason to get excited. Hood posted a teaser of the new official poster for the upcoming movie on the official Tumblr blog.
The poster doesn’t show a whole lot … yet, but Hood says that’s because he’s only showing a portion of the picture. What we can see is someone standing at the entrance of a door. At the feet is a sign that reads “Warning: Null G Beyond This Point”
It appears that this particular shot is taken from the book in which Ender and his fellow young soldiers learn how to do battle in zero gravity.
Ender’s Game , the movie, is based off of the book with the same name. The story is that of a futuristic society that puts adolescents into the military and trains them up to either be soldiers or commanders in that same military.
Throughout the story, we follow Ender and his troop as they learn to prepare for battle against an alien, insectile race that earth has had to clash with before.
The book was written by Orson Scott Card, who has since distanced himself from the project after making some rather inflammatory remarks about gay marriage and homosexuals in general.
On the official Tumblr blog, Hood talked about how this particular story was special to him because he was drafted into the military when he was a youth in South Africa.
The full movie poster is set to be released tomorrow, exclusively on Yahoo! Movies, and the film is due out on November 1. The picture has a pretty star studded cast with Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, and Ben Kingsley taking up some of the major adult roles.
Asa Butterfield will play Ender Wiggins, and Abigail Breslin will appear as his sister Violet Wiggins.
Will this glimpse of the poster get you excited to see Ender’s Game ?
