Coachella truly is full of surprises! Aside from fist pumping musical numbers from renowned artists, the music festival is also filled with unforgettable non-musical action. One of these is an intense, oxygen-depriving make out session between Drake and Madonna that people will certainly remember for ages.
While performing his single “Madonna,” Drake was joined on stage by the Queen of Pop herself. What happened next did not only take the audience by surprise. It also left Drake shocked and gasping for air.
As Drake sat on a chair, Madonna came up to him and planted him a kiss that lasted for about ten seconds. In videos circulating all over the internet, it can be seen that the artist tried to touch Madonna’s hair but the Queen of Pop apparently took his hand and pushed it out of the way. Drake flailed his arms and as Madonna broke their impromptu make out session, he bended over and held a hand to his mouth. With a shocked look on his face, the rapper then asked, “What the f—k just happened?”

Considering their huge age gap, many concluded that Drake’s reaction was one out of disgust. Yahoo! Music is among one of the numerous online sources who seem to think so. In an article about the memorable smooch, they wrote, “After coming up for air, the rapper looked not only traumatized – but disgusted.”
The Business Insider also thought the same thing. “… Drake’s look of disgust probably wasn’t the reaction Madonna was going for,” the online source wrote.
Despite these statements, Drake took the issue like a gentleman and clarified his reaction. The rapper took to Instagram to rave about making out with Madonna. He posted a photo of their unforgettable kiss and captioned it.
“Don’t misinterpret my shock! I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100 about that forever.”
Madonna seemed to share the same sentiment. Perhaps the Queen of Pop was also feeling “100 about that forever” that she also posted a photo of their kiss on her own Instagram. She captioned the snap with, “No caption necessary… @coachella. #bestnight #bigasmadonna #b-tchimmadonna.”
Aware of all the criticism about her, Madonna followed it up with a photo of a quote that said, “If you don’t like me and still watch everything I do. B-tch, you’re a fan.”
After telling his side of the story, Drake then dropped his new track entitled “My Side.”
