Dorinda Medley has an idea of who should fill the empty place left by Heather Thomson on The Real Housewives of New York City ahead of the series’ upcoming eighth season, and during a recent event, Dorinda Medley revealed her suggestion to press.
“Monica Lewinsky. Wouldn’t that be great?” Dorinda Medley told Page Six on Thursday, September 10, at a party for the Bella Magazine Fall Issue Cover.
Dorinda Medley’s suggestion comes just days after a member of Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign revealed she was a big fan of The Real Housewives of New York City .
“Yes, can you believe that? ‘Cause Richard [Dorinda Medley’s deceased husband] used to work on [Bill Clinton’s] campaign, so I got a call from one of the people who work on it and they said, ‘You know I just want to tell you that Hillary really enjoys you on the show’ … I didn’t even know what to say.”
According to the report, Dorinda Medley’s late husband, Richard, once worked as the chief economist for the U.S. House Banking committee, and along with Dorinda Medley, Richard reportedly helped raise funds for the Clintons.
“The nice thing is that it was her choice,” Dorinda Medley explained. “You know, she’s got a lot going on in her life with her kids and she runs a big company. I think Heather is the type of person, she does it and if it doesn’t work with her or for her anymore she would rather leave than ask her to leave.”
Dorinda Medley joined the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City ahead of its seventh season as a full-time cast member after reportedly being introduced to Real Housewives creator Andy Cohen by her longtime friend, Ramona Singer. At the same time, Bethenny Frankel rejoined the show after taking three seasons off.
As for Thomson, she officially confirmed her exit from Bravo earlier this month. In a statement to Us Weekly , Dorinda Medley’s co-star revealed she was simply to busy with her life as a mother, wife and businesswoman to continue on with the filming schedule.
Another one of Dorinda Medley’s co-stars, Carole Radziwill, also spoke to the magazine about Thomson’s exit.
“Heather is a very accomplished and honorable person. She brought that and so much more to the show. She’s an incredible mom and business woman, with or without the show. There is no doubt Heather will always do great things. While she won’t be part of the show, she is still a part of my life, and for that I’m grateful. Holla!”
Dorinda Medley’s season eight return has yet to be confirmed.
