Donovan McNabb will officially retire on Monday.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced today that their former quarterback will officially hang it up on Monday.

McNabb was drafted by the Eagles with the second pick in 1999. He played in Philadelphia for a decade before being traded to the Washington Redskins. Mcnabb played his last NFL game with the Minnesota Vikings in 2011 but announced earlier this year that he would be coming back to Philadelphia so that he could retire an Eagle.

NFL.com reports that McNabb will be honored on September 19 when the Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are currently being coach by Andy Reid, who spent several years with McNabb while he was playing for the Eagles.

McNabb holds franchise records in Philadelphia for completions, 2,801, passing touchdowns, 216, and overall passing yards, 32,873. He also ranks pretty highly among all NFL quarterbacks. According to ESPN , Mcnabb is 17th on the list for career passing with 37l276 and 22nd for touchdowns with 234.

He led the Eagles to five NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl.
