Blake Shelton seemingly won’t be able to escape rumors about how he proposed to Gwen Stefani until he actually pops the question and announces that he and Gwen are officially engaged. In the meantime, his fabricated proposals just keep getting more and more bizarre.
Radar Online recently claimed that Gwen Stefani was less than impressed when Blake Shelton decided to give the old engagement-ring-in-the-wine-glass proposal his own unique spin. According to an unnamed source, Blake buried a $1.2 million Tiffany engagement ring in a greasy bucket of KFC fried chicken. Gwen allegedly turned him down after digging the sparkly treasure out of a pile of breaded poultry, but not because she thought Blake Shelton’s Kentucky fried romantic gesture was ridiculous.
“Gwen was very touched, but said she had to wait to make sure it was right for the kids,” the source said of Gwen’s supposed proposal rejection.
However, according to Gossip Cop , the KFC proposal never happened; this is a story that the National Enquirer allegedly cooked up. It has since spread across the Internet like wildfire, but there’s no more truth to it than there is to previous rumors about Gwen and Blake getting engaged. These include one report that Gwen proposed to Blake after the couple enjoyed a barbecue dinner before the Kids’ Choice Awards.
This isn’t the first time the National Enquirer has allegedly invented a story involving Blake Shelton and fried chicken. As the Boot reports, the tabloid once claimed that Blake suffered from chest pain and had to be rushed to the emergency room “after a wild night of downing tequila, beer and tubs of fried chicken.”
Blake jokingly responded to the story on Twitter.
“Newest tabloid is that I’m having heart problems… That’s ridiculous. It’s my liver that’s focked!!!!!!” Blake wrote.
Perhaps the tabloid’s fried chicken fixation comes from one of Blake Shelton’s old tweets about his drinking.
Im so drunk right now I just walked in to Kentucky Fried Chicken and shouted “Finger licking good?!! Can yall dump my order in my pants?!”

If Blake Shelton is to propose to Gwen Stefani, a bucket of chicken wouldn’t be the best way to go. According to Beacon Street Online , Gwen is more of a pizza girl . Luckily for Gwen, her guy also loves his pie.
“Look at me! I eat way too d*** much pizza,” Blake said during an interview with People . “I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma, and pizza was one of the few options we had there, so I grew up loving pizza.”

According to E! News , Gwen and Blake were spotted on a pizza date last December. The couple chowed down on their beloved combo of tomato sauce, cheese, and bread at Mama Cozza’s Italian Restaurant in Anaheim. They were joined by Gwen’s three sons, 10-year-old Kingston, 7-year-old Zuma, and 2-year-old Apollo.
“The whole family was here and they were really cool about sitting anywhere,” a source revealed. “They ate pizza—it’s what they always order.”
Gwen Stefani is also a fan of sushi, which Blake Shelton tried for the first time, during his recent appearance on The Tonight Show . Host Jimmy Fallon convinced Blake to try a variety of different menu items at the Nobu 57 restaurant in New York City, and it’s safe to say that Blake will not be hiding Gwen’s engagement ring in a salmon roll if he ever does propose to her.
Back in April, Us Weekly reported that Blake Shelton was ready to pop the question , so Gwen should probably chew carefully whenever she and Blake eat together.
“Blake could propose to Gwen very soon,” a source revealed. “Gwen is everything he wants.”
The source didn’t reveal whether Gwen Stefani’s engagement ring will be covered in chicken crumbs, cheese, or wasabi whenever Blake Shelton whips it out.
