The launch of the House of Wolves expansion for Destiny means an all new set of Legendary gear for PlayStation and Xbox players to earn. The Prison of Elders activity has its own weapons and armor available, and this guide was put together to give some insight into the mode’s loot table.
The weapons and armor are along the lines of what you expect for Legendary weapons. It is nice to see a high impact Auto Rifle included in the Prison of Elders loot table after the deluge of low impact Auto Rifles in The Dark Below .
The most interesting piece is the Vestian Dynasty, though. It is classified as a Sidearm that takes up the Special Weapons slot of your Guardian in Destiny . It has a very high rate of fire and a low impact, but its perks include bonus damage to the Fallen, the ability to suppress a Fallen Captain’s abilities, and bonus damage after a reload following a kill. The fact that it has Arc damage also suggests that it is a ready-made Fallen Captain killer.
The Prison of Elders armor all come with a random perk specific to the mode with the exception of the class item pieces. This may encourage you to hold multiple pieces of armor, since the randomized perks are specific to each of the four enemy races.
While we don’t yet know which level of difficulty these will drop at, we do know that you need a Treasure Key to open a chest in the Treasure Room. The keys can be earned either by completing Prison of Elders at level 32 and above or by doing the Pack of Wolves public events, which you can find a guide for here .
