Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Robert Scott Wilson may be leaving the soap. The news comes just days after Wilson’s character, Ben Weston, was revealed to be the Salem serial killer, who has been terrorizing the city by strangling women with a necktie.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry , the killer reveal not only shocked fans, but also stunned Robert Scott Wilson, who reportedly didn’t know he was the murderer until after the first two victims, Serena Mason and Paige Larson, were already dead. However, Robert says he didn’t shy away from playing the bad guy. In fact, he embraced the chance to show off his acting depth and seemed to love every minute of it, he told Soap Opera Digest .
“I ran with it because I got what I wanted: the chance to play Ben in a total arc, taking him from one set of character traits to a completely different type of person.”
However, Ben Weston’s new Days of Our Lives killer story line likely means that he’ll be leaving the show in the near future. Murderers in Salem are always caught after they sufficiently elude the Salem Police, kill a few residents, and cause a whole lot of drama and trouble that fans love to watch. This means that that one of two things is likely to happen to Robert Scott Wilson’s character. He’ll be sent to prison for murder, or he’ll be killed.
Rumors have been flying that Ben’s father, Clyde Weston, is about to meet his demise on DOOL , so it is possible that Ben could follow suit. However, since the serial killer story line will likely continue through the official 50th anniversary of the soap in November, it’s hard to say when Ben will finally meet his end.
Fans are now wondering what all this means for Ben’s fiancée, Abigail, who is believed to be carrying his child. While the baby is likely Chad DiMera’s, and Abby will probably end up back with her ex-boyfriend, who she so obviously still loves, could there be a question for her safety?
Over the past few weeks, Days of Our Lives fans have seen Ben Weston turn into a very jealous, possessive, and psychotic boyfriend, and while Abigail doesn’t know she’s engaged to and living with a mad man, there have been some definite red flags. Ben placed a tracking app on Abby’s phone that allowed him to see where she was at all times. It was this decision that likely pushed Ben over the edge to kill and frame Chad, as he noticed that Abigail was with DiMera much of the time. Ben has also lashed out at Abby on multiple occasions.
So, when Abigail finally finds out that Ben is the killer and is responsible for killing her co-worker, Serena Mason, and her brother JJ’s girlfriend, Paige Larson, will Ben then set his sights on his fiancée? Ben seems like he could snap at any moment and reveal himself as the killer. Will he kill Abby, ensuring that if he can’t have her, no one will?
Whatever happens, Days of Our Lives fans can rest easy knowing that they have a few great months of the show coming leading up to the 50th anniversary. More characters are exiting, old favorites are returning such as Sami Brady, Shawn Brady, Belle Black, and Philip Kiriakis, and some shocking deaths will happen, such as the rumored killings of Will Horton and Daniel Jonas.
It’s easy to see that DOOL is back in full swing, and viewers aren’t going to want to miss a moment of the NBC soap as it tries to return to it’s former glory and remind fans of exactly why they loved watching in the first place.
