Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are teaming up once again for the new movie “Dark Shadows.”

The trailer for the new movie, which is based off of the gothic soap opera from the 1960s, was revealed today on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.” Depp steps into the shoes of vampire Barnabas Collins (previously played by Jonathan Frid) who wakes up in the 1970s after a spell is put on him by a witch in the 18th century.

Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Moretz, Jonny Lee Miller, and Helena Bonham Carter also star in the movie.

Burton has taken “Dark Shadows” in a more comedic direction than the original which may disappoint some fans. Burton and Depp are both huge fans of the original series and said that they were trying to capture the spirit of the original with this remake. Burton said:

“For me, it’s about trying to go back to the original drawings and kind of capture that spirit a little bit more of what the drawings are. It feels different even though it’s a similar story, but we’re kind of expanding it a bit.”
