Daniel Radcliffe might have played the lead role in one of the world’s most beloved franchises, but the British actor is worried that he won’t be able to fulfill his dream to become a “superhero” because of this. The Harry Potter star tells Loaded that he’s interested in becoming Spider-Man but acknowledged that his aspiration might be far-fetched.
“It’s been and gone, they’ve done it three times in my lifetime. [But] if someone came to me with one of those things and it was good and I was interested then I would totally be up for doing it. But I could also see how from their point of view they might not want somebody who is very recognizably the face of another franchise in their franchise.”
Radcliffe appears to have a point because even if the Spider-Man role becomes available, fans will always associate him with Harry Potter, especially after giving life to the role in eight movies for almost a decade. It must be noted as well that the last two actors who took the role, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, were not linked to other high-profile roles prior to being cast as Spider-Man.

The 27-year-old actor also expressed interest in being a part of Game of Thrones . Radcliffe said that it would be fine if they’d put him in the HBO show even if it meant a gruesome death . “If they want to just bring me in and f*****g kill me, I would be so happy to do that,” the Imperium actor told Digital Spy .
With all the buzz surrounding Harry Potter and the Cursed Child , some are wondering if Radcliffe will watch the show just like his co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. However, he told the hosts of KISS FM Breakfast that his presence might be a distraction to the theatergoers.
“It would be a very weird thing to go and see it in a crowd of excited Harry Potter fans. I feel some people would like be watching me for my reaction to the play. I would never wanna be a distraction from anything going on on stage. I go to the theater to relax and enjoy stuff. And I might not feel particularly relaxed.”
Will he consider reprising his role as The Boy Who Lived?
For now, Radcliffe isn’t too eager to go back. As per his interview with the Hollywood Reporter , he’s “secure enough to let someone else” play Harry’s role should there be a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child film.
In the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play, Harry is 37 years old. This makes some fans wonder if Radcliffe will reconsider his decision in a few years’ time. For him, it would be strange to go back because “some things are better left untouched.” He is concerned that returning to his role might ruin the magic of the series that people have loved.
Nevertheless, Radcliffe knows that it would be “stupid” to completely close his doors. He recalls Harrison Ford, who reprised his role as Han Solo in Star Wars after 30 years.
Reports have recently emerged that Warner Bros. might turn Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play into a film, but only if Radcliffe’s up for it. A representative, however, said that there are no plans – for now. The studio is currently preparing for the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in November.
J.K. Rowling likewise teased fans that if there’s a great demand, the play might be extended and that a tour could even happen.
If demand is there – remember, it’s still at preview stage! – it will run for a long time AND tour – you’ll see it! https://t.co/Vi4NMyCKLD
