Danica Patrick stars in country rapper Colt Ford’s new “Drivin’ Around Song” music video with her boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
In the video, Danica Patrick and Ford play a couple who are waiting for Stenhouse to fix their car. “Patrick flirts with Stenhouse and then steals a set of keys to an all-terrain vehicle parked outside, and then takes Ford on a spin through Mooresville, N.C.” which somehow culminates in an impromptu concert on the street. At the end of their joyride, they return the all-terrain vehicle, which actually looks more like a golf cart, to the garage before the mechanic fully notices anything out of the ordinary going on.
Patrick and Stenhouse, a Sprint Cup rookie and big country music fan, have been described as NASCAR’s new power couple.
According to Sporting News’ assessment of the video, “Danica can do small-town, mischievous country girl. Makes you wonder what kind of trouble she got into when he wasn’t racing. If his driving gig doesn’t work out, Stenhouse could get work as a small-town garage mechanic.
With regard to the Colt Ford music video, Patrick said that “It was a lot of fun to do. It was a beautiful day in Mooresville that day and those are the fun things that you get to do outside of the car. So, I enjoyed that. That was good fun. And obviously, I had a pretty hot mechanic working on the car.”
Danica Patrick will be co-hosting the American Country Awards on December 10 alongside singer Trace Adkins at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. “I’m so excited to host the American Country Awards with Trace Adkins. I have no doubt he’ll be able to keep up with me. I’ve become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR and have been fortunate to be in videos with Miranda Lambert and Colt Ford,” Patrick said in a statement.
