Creed singer Scott Stapp is homeless and broke years after his incredible success in the music industry in the ’90s. According to Entertainment Tonight , the 41-year-old lead singer of Creed took to Facebook to let the world know that he’s not doing so well . He claims that the IRS took all of his money through a “clerical error” and that he can’t even afford to buy himself a hot meal.
“Right now I’m living in a Holiday Inn, by the grace of God, because there’s been a couple of weeks I had to live in my truck. I had no money, not even for gas or food. I went two days without eating because I had no money and ended up in an emergency room,” Stapp said.
The Creed singer is now homeless but says that he is sober, contrary to all of the rumors that have circulated about him. He says that he is working hard to get to the bottom of things, and that he hopes to uncover the truth, and eventually get back on his feet.
“Eight weeks ago, I began an audit of not only my record company, but my personal finances. During the course of that audit, a lot of things were uncovered. A lot of money was stolen from me, or royalties not paid, and that’s when all hell began to break loose,” he said. He also said that he is in need of a lawyer and asked his fans to come forward if they’d be willing to represent him in his case against the IRS. You can check out the video here .
Scott Stapp released the 15-minute video , and tagged it “Part 1,” which could mean that there will be more videos on the way. According to Rolling Stone , Stapp released the video days after his beauty queen wife, Jaclyn, filed for divorce. It’s unknown if his video is in any way related to his wife’s decision to leave him.
“This is a very painful and personal matter for Jaclyn and her family. Her primary concern remains, as it always has been, the best interest of her children,” said Jason Brodie on behalf of Jaclyn Stapp.
Though the Creed singer says he’s homeless, some think his video is a joke and he is being slammed on social media. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , plenty of people have been making jokes about the situation on Twitter.
