Comedy Central has renewed Workaholics for two more seasons.
The third season of the series premiered on May 29, 2012, and the summer finale aired on July 31. New episodes from the second half of the season will begin airing on January 16.
According to Deadline , Workaholics averaged 2 million viewers during the first half of its third season. It was also the highest rated series in its Wednesday at 10:30 pm timeslot across all of television among men 18-34 and men 18-24. The ironically titled series follows three college dropouts — Adam DeMamp (Adam DeVine), Blake Henderson (Blake Anderson), and Anders Holmvik (Anders Holm) — who work at a telemarketing company in Rancho Cucamonga called TelAmeriCorp.
In addition to renewing Workaholics , Comedy Central has given an eight-episode pickup to the Funny or Die sketch series Drunk History . The series is produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy’s Gary Sanchez Productions.
Drunk History features historical reenactments as told by inebriated narrators. One sketch features Jack Black as Benjamin Franklin, Clark Duke as his illegitimate son, William, and Eric Falconer, a co-executive producer for How I Met Your Mother , as the narrator.
Other actors include Jim Carrey, Ryan Gosling, Don Cheadle, and Michael Cera. Narrators include Jen Kirkman (comedian, actress, and writer, Chelsea Lately ), J.D. Ryznar (writer, Blue Mountain State ), and Mark Gagliardi (actor, Lemmings ).
A Drunk History sketch that featured Will Ferrell as Abraham Lincoln and Don Cheadle as Frederick Douglass won a Jury Prize for Best American Short Film at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
