Clint Eastwood might be 82 years old but he doesn’t feel like that means he needs to stop directing anytime soon. The famous actor, director and sometimes political mouthpiece has had a tough road to hoe the last few weeks.
It was announced last week that his wife, Dina was having to check into a facility for treatment surrounding anxiety and depression. This was on the heels of the celebration of his daughter tying the knot.
Despite the up and down nature of his life recently, the griseled vet with the signature gravel in his voice says that the doesn’t think that means he needs to slow down when it comes to his career. The actor recently said that he would like to be directing when he is hitting 105 years old.
Clint Eastwood said that “It would be great to be 105 and still making films.” While he would almost assuredly enjoy to still be having a career at that age, it seems even he knows just how out of the norm that would be calling the goal the “ultimate optimism.”
The man, who most recently might be best known for having a debate with a chair did point to 104-year-old Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira as his inspiration.
The man who was at the helm of such great films such as Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven made the comments while he was at a staged conversation with some of Hollywood’s other great directors.
It certainly doesn’t seem as if Hollywood is ready for the octogenarian to call it a career. It will most likely be up to him when he does decide that he needs to slow the pace down stop working.
