‘Cleveland Abduction’: Lifetime Movie Airs Saturday, Based On True Story Of Michelle Knight, Sex Addict Ariel Castro

Cleveland Abduction , the Lifetime movie based on the true story of kidnapping survivors Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina De Jesus will premiere tomorrow night. The upcoming tv crime movie will focus on the infamous Cleveland kidnappings by sex addict Ariel Castro. It has been highly anticipated since the day Lifetime announced that the movie was in production.

Cleveland Abduction is based on Michelle Knight’s account of what went on in that house of horrors on Seymour Avenue, as documented in her book Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, A Life Reclaimed: A Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings. Directed by Alex Kalymnios and written by Stephen Tolkin, the true-story movie will chronicle the events that led up to the abduction, the torment and pain of living life in that home as a kidnap victim, and the final act of kindness from a stranger who helped one of the victims kick out a small space to escape to freedom.

The Inquisitr reported last year that Cleveland abduction victim Michelle Knight told her side of the story on Dr. Phil. Up until last week, Michelle Knight had been the only young woman out of three to give her full story. That all changed last week after Robin Robert’s interview with Gina De Jesus and Amanda Berry on ABC’s 20/20 , where they gave a full account on how and when they were abducted, what life was like living from day to day, and a description of how they lived in constant fear that they were going to end up dead.

The Robin Robert 20/20 interview was inspired by the release of Gina and Amanda’s book, which answers a lot of the public’s questions, such as who actually saved them. In the book, Hope A Memoir Of Survival In Cleveland , Amanda Berry credits Charles Ramsey as the one who stayed and saw to it that she made it out safely. As for the movie, Ariel Castro is one person who won’t be watching the movie — even from his jail cell. Castro committed suicide in prison.

Cleveland Abduction is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Woodridge Productions. The cast includes Taryn Manning as Michelle Knight, Samantha Droke as Amanda Berry, Katie Sarife as Gina De Jesus, and actor Raymond Cruz as the diabolical Ariel Castro.

It will be interesting to see Michelle Knight’s version of what happened compared to Gina De Jesus and Amanda Berry’s version of what took place. Even with the debut of Cleveland Abduction , questions still linger — questions that the movie might not be able to answer.

One detail that people find troubling is why Amanda Berry and Gina De Jesus seem so estranged from Michelle Knight. Here are some comments from Facebook.

“Why are these two so close and not inclusive of Michelle Knight?”

“there is definitely an issue between the girls. you could see it the way Amanda Berry said Michelle’s name in the interview.”

“It’s very sad that they have chosen not to talk to Michelle. She endured the same hell and more than they did, that alone should be reason to remain close and help each other. “

Don’t forget to tune in on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. central. Here is the movie description and trailer, according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) .
