Claire Danes has a hit television show and a son about to hit his first birthday, but the 34-year-old actress still has time to work out.
Danes was spotted this weekend taking a run in Manhattan’s West Village, working up a sweat as she listened to music on her iPhone. She was seen wearing a pair of black Nike leggings and a red and white checkered vest, her hair pulled back in a ponytail.
The workout caught the attention of several celebrity news outlets , many of which commented on the great physique of the actress and working mom.
Claire Danes plays CIA officer Carrie Mathison on the television series Homeland , a role that requires her to stay in good shape. But it’s not just her work life keeping her busy. Danes just came back to New York City after spending time in Toronto, where her husband Hugh Dancy is filming the second season of the television series Hannibal.
Claire said she has enjoyed being a mom to her son, and that it’s actually helped in her work.
“My real anxiety was that I would never want to work again,” she told Vogue. “Because it’s so intoxicating, the bond is just so… viscous. It’s like superglue.
Critics have taken notice as well, with many calling Danes the most critical piece of Homeland’s success .
“Since we first met her, as teenager Angela Chase in My So-Called Life , Danes has been our communicator nonpareil of raw feeling — a master of the knit brow, trembling chin, the wet eye,” wrote Los Angeles Times television critic Robert Lloyd. “I can’t think of another actor who portrays extremity so convincingly; you credit the pain, and the joy, even as you mark and admire the work.”
