The Miami Heat were able to top the Indiana Pacers during the first game of the Eastern Conference semi-finals with Chris Bosh sitting on the sidelines for the majority of the game. The star forward, who will undergo an MRI to find out the severity of the injury, could be out for the rest of the series and possibly the rest of the playoffs.

The Heat haven’t made any announcements about Bosh’s playing condition but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said that the team fears the worst.

Windhorst wrote : “Chris Bosh will have an MRI to determine severity of injury. It is likely not a short-term issue… Depends on severity but it’s possible Bosh misses rest of series.”

The MRI results are expected later today but it’s unclear when they will be announced to the public.

Dywane Wade said:

“Hopefully [Monday] we get good news. We all just want to make sure Chris is healthy. So that’s all we know right now. Our brother is going to go [Monday] to see if he can get back out there and play with us. If not, then we’ve got to have someone step up very big. You can’t fill Chris Bosh’s shoes, but you can have a few guys step up. So we’ll see.”

The Heat were able to pull of a game 1 win but several commentators worry about the Heat’s chances without Bosh. Lebron James had to play all 24 minutes of the 3rd and 4th quarters to help the Heat maintain the edge on the boards during the second half.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said:

“I just looked at him straight in the eyes and said, ‘You can flat-out not get tired, period,’ And he made MVP plays on both ends of the court.”

Can Lebron James go the rest of the series without getting tired? Will the Heat beat the Pacers without Bosh?
