Chelsea Houska, Kail Lowry, Jenelle Evans, and Leah Messer appear to be filming the sixth season of Teen Mom 2 .
“The road to Teen Mom 2’s sixth season has been rocky, to say the least. We still have yet to get an official announcement from MTV that it’s happening, on top of the fact that Leah Calvert quit and then un-quit the show. But from the looks of some new photos shared by the cast on social media, it seems like season 6 is definitely a go!” OK! Magazine reported on December 22.
Earlier this month, along with a photo on Facebook of herself, Nathan Griffin, and Jace, Evans wrote , “Guess who is old enough to get mic’d up now!”
“Cameras were also spotted at Jenelle’s 23rd birthday party, which was held at her and Nathan’s new home in North Carolina,” OK! continued, noting Evans’ birthday cake had the MTV logo on its top layer.
In another social media photo, Lowry and her husband, Javi Marroquin, were seen working out with cameras at their side.
Chelsea Houska has been more secretive, tweeting only photos of herself, her daughter, and her new boyfriend, which don’t include cameras or any signs of MTV.
On December 9, The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported Messer had signed on for Season 6 , despite announcing she was quitting the show a short while before.
“Leah has signed on for Season 6!” the site reported. “Although Leah was worried about having her marriage turmoil exposed on national TV again, she has agreed to do Season 6. Leah signed the Season 6 paperwork last week and will begin filming her segments soon!”
As for why Messer changed her mind, the site claimed her finances were the leading reason behind her decision.
“Leah signed on for one reason only: she needs the money,” the site explained. “Although she recently started her own styling/photography business, Leah does have three children to care for and, with her marriage to Jeremy Calvert basically over, she needs to have a steady source of income.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Chelsea Houska made headlines recently after allegedly deciding to return to court in an effort to get stricter rules in her custody agreement with Adam Lind.
“Adam’s parents are in denial and think he hasn’t done anything wrong,” an insider told Radar Online on December 10. “They’re not on board with making sure Aubree is not alone with him.”
While Houska never had a problem with Lind’s parents before, she now feels she’s left with no other option that to take legal action against their son in an effort to ensure the safety of her daughter.
“Sadly, Chelsea might have to ask for visits at a visitation center to ensure Aubree is safe at all times,” the source explained.
Chelsea Houska and the cast of Teen Mom 2 will likely return to MTV sometime next summer or fall.
