Cedar Point Accident Injures Seven

A Cedar Point accident injured seven passengers on the Shoot the Rapids water ride. A malfunction reportedly caused the boat to fall backward down the first hill. Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio, is one of the most well-known amusement parks in the world.

Shoot the Rapids, which debuted in 2010, is a water thrill ride. Passengers are transported in log flume boats that carry up to 10 riders. According to Wikipedia , the ride has two hills. The first hill is 85 feet tall and has a 45 degree angle.

It was on the first hill where the trouble occurred. As reported by LSJ.com , the log flume boat, which was carrying seven passengers, malfunctioned.

The boat rolled backward down the hill, landing upside down in the water. Numerous people, including park visitors, jumped into the water to help. The passengers were all safely rescued from the ride .

All seven passengers were hurt in the Cedar Point accident . Six passengers were treated and released at the scene. One passenger required treatment at a local hospital, but was later released.

As reported by CP US , Cedar Point officials have not commented in detail about the incident. However, they have stated that guest safety remains their “number one priority.”

Cedar Point has closed Shoot the Rapids, pending investigation into the malfunction. Officials state that the ride will remain closed until passenger safety can be assured.

The Cedar Point peninsula became a tourist attraction around 1880. The park initially featured a beer garden and a dance floor. The first roller coaster was built at Cedar Point in 1892.

The Cedar Point accident was certainly frightening for everyone involved. Thankfully nobody was critically injured.
