Adele 2016 Tour Dates Announced: Is ‘Hello’ Singer Coming To Your Town?

Adele’s 2016 tour dates have been announced! Will the “Hello” singer be swinging by you? Unfortunately, unless you live in Europe, the answer is no.

As Reuters reports , Adele announced her 2016 tour in a rather unusual way, posting a video on her website in which she appears before a map of Europe (to leave no doubt about where the tour will be?). At one point, she produces a Harry Potter wand, apparently because Adele and Harry Potter are both British and that’s how they roll.

“Hello it’s me. I have been bluffing this whole time and I’m so relieved to finally tell you I am of course coming on tour and I can’t wait to see all of you there.”

Clearly Adele doesn’t take herself too seriously, letting obscenities fly, laughing at herself, and concluding her video by saying “it’s hard work being Harry Potter!”

Adele (whose full name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, in case you were wondering) is, without a doubt, at the top of her game right now. Her third album, 25 , broke the single-week album sales record in the United States, and as of this writing has sold well over two million copies. The lead single from the album, “Hello,” debuted at #1 in the U.S. and in the U.K., and sold over a million copies digitally within a week of its release (the first song to ever do so).

Adele also played the role of musical guest on Saturday Night Live recently, where a parody sketch suggested that playing “Hello” could immediately put an end to all Thanksgiving-table arguments about politics. She then followed that up with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , where she, Jimmy, and The Roots recorded “Hello” on classroom instruments.

Not bad for an artist who has basically taken the last three years of her career off. After the phenomenal success of her second album, 21 , as well as an Academy Award win for Best Original Song for the theme song from Skyfall , Adele told MTV she needed some time off .

“If I didn’t write my own songs, I’d be out next week with a new album. I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it’ll be the same this time.”
