Everyone knows model Cara Delevingne instantly. From her thick lips to her define cheekbones, Delevigne’s image is imprinted in the world’s mind and will most likely live on to be an icon of our era. However, not much is widely known about the woman behind the iconically thick brows. Here are five things you may not have known about Cara Delivingne.
Cara is an aspiring musician.
Beyond modeling, Mail Online reports that Cara Delivingne loves to play the drums. The website reports that Delivingne makes “no secret of her musical ambitions… [and] Rihanna is said to be advising Cara on her recording career.” Cara has also sung onstage with best friend, British singer-songwriter Rita Ora . Harper’s Bazaar speculates that Delivingne may have a real singing career in front of her.
She designs.
Another lesser-known skill Delivingne has mastered is designing clothing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Delivingne teamed up with New York fashion house DKNY to design a collection of unisex clothing. Telegraph reports that some styles in the collection of bags Cara designed for Mulberry sold out in under a week since their release, garnering such attention that waiting lists are being made to purchase one of the bags.
Delivingne acts… What doesn’t she do?
In addition to her other talents, Cara has appeared more than once on the big screen. Of acting in 2012’s Anna Karenina as Princess Sorokina, she told Fashion Telegraph, “I was so excited I couldn’t sleep for the first few nights. Acting has always been my dream, even more than modelling.” Delivingne has also appeared in Pan, Tulip Fever, and Kids in Love, which are in post-production, and The Face of an Angel.
She suffers psoriasis.
Stress-induced psoriasis, at that. The condition causes Delivingne to break out in scabs and red patches when overstressed. In an interview with W Magazine, Cara was asked about her condition interfering with her professional life. She said:
“It only happened during Fashion Week!… hich is, of course, the worst time of the year for me to be covered in scabs. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, and I’m sensitive…”
Cara is not looking to settle down quite yet.
At least, so says her sister, newlywed Poppy Delivingne. According to New York Post , when asked if Cara wanted marriage , Poppy replied, “Not anytime soon – she’s having way too much fun.”
